A judge ordered Eli Lilly and Co. to pay $537,843 to its former executive director of human resources after finding the company at fault for determining she was fine to return back to work and no longer eligible for extended disability. So reports the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Cathleen Kennedy quit in 2008 claiming she suffered from major depression and severe chronic fibromyalgia. She had been collecting disability payments, but in 2012 a new plan administrator found she was able to work again. The $537,843 payment is for past benefits she did not receive. Eli Lily plans to appeal.
