Indian Millennials 'Snacking' On Jobs

Millennials are not as likely to follow the path of previous generations that strived to set anchor with one employer where they could build a long-career. So reports Live Mint.

"Millennials are snacking on careers," says Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of Naukri.com, an online job site. "They are trying several things till they find something they like."

That often means that millennials will jump from job to job four to five times in two to three years, he notes. Millennials have high expectations and that can often mean landing what seems like an ideal corporate job only to leave shortly after because they are bored or don't want to deal with the long hours and stress, says Radhika Gopalkrishan, partner at Mumbai-based Aon Hewitt Associates.

"They follow their passions and do the things we (as an older generation) didn't have the guts to do in terms of career choices," Gopalkrishan says. "They will jump without a safety valve to exotic professions like saving the world in some way, to creating art."
