Gay NZ Rugby Team Cuts Ties with Law Firm Facing Sex Harassment Allegations

A gay rugby team in New Zealand has ended its relationship with a law firm that is facing sexual harassment allegations. So reports Stuff.

The national team, NZ Falcons, struck a sponsorship deal with law firm Russell McVeagh, in February. At the time, the firm's human resources director called it "an important demonstration that we embrace diversity and inclusion at Russell McVeagh, but also to show we are creating and embedding a welcoming working environment into our own firm's culture."

A week later, allegations came forth against Russell McVeagh about inappropriate behavior related to sex with law students.

Shortly after, the NZ Falcon's Facebook page noted that it was in its best interest to cut ties. "We are committed to championing inclusivity and equality, but would like to thank those in the organisation that have shown us goodwill," it stated.

Russell McVeagh declined to comment.
