Indian Exec Among World’s Most Powerful Women in Biz

Alice Vaidyan was the only Indian woman to make a list of the world's most influential women in businesses outside the U.S. So report Zee Biz.

Vaidyan, chairman and managing director of General Insurance Corporation of India, was among 50 women to make Fortune's Most Powerful Women list, placing 47th. The list only ranks women outside of U.S.

Vaidyan rose to the top leadership position at her firm in 2016 and, under her tenure, GIC saw revenues rise 44% last year. The firm also went public last year, with an initial public offering that ranked as the country's third-biggest in history. She also has led GIC's expansion in overseas markets.
