Aldi Australia Bolsters Domestic Violence Leave Policy

Aldi Australia has joined other businesses in the country to expand its domestic violence leave policy. So reports Smart Company.

The German supermarket chain has vowed to give its 12,000 full- and part-time staff 10 days of paid domestic violence leave as well as A$250 per individual to cover expenses arising from family and domestic violence.

Aldi will go as far as helping employees move to a different work site if the need arises. "Through their policy, Aldi is making a strong statement that they are here to help any employee experiencing this terrible crime," says Karen Willis, executive officer with Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia. "The options available as part of this policy are exemplary, assisting employees to access relevant support as they need it."
