Vietnam to Bump Up Retirement Age

Vietnam is increasing the retirement age for its workers from 60 to 62 for men and from 55 to 60 for women by the year 2021. So reports HRM Asia.

The retirement age increase is meant to counter the negative economic impact from an increasingly older population and a drop in social welfare funds.

The country expects to see 1.5 million new laborers by 2035 versus 1.3 million Vietnamese who will retire by that date, according to Vietnam's General Statistics Office.
