Australian Millennials Most Tardy for Work

Australian millennials, or those born from 1981 to 1995, were deemed the least reliable workers, with 73% of men and 70% of women of that generation reporting late for work at least once from March 2018 to March this year. So reports Daily Mail Australia.

The workforce reliability of more than 290,000 Australians in various generations were reviewed for a Late to Work Report prepared by Deputy, a rostering software firm.

Baby Boomers, those born from 1946 to 1964, were also pretty bad with 64% of men and 67% of women reporting late to work. Generation Z, or those born from 1996 to 2012, fared better than millennials with 71% of men and 67% of women reporting late.

Shortly after the report came out, 33% of millennials were found to have not lasted past the first 90 days of starting their jobs. “The majority of reasons why probation fails is because of [millennial's] own habits and lack of engagement,” says Greg Weiss, a human resources expert, told Daily Mail Australia. “Of the reasons for failing, 62% is poor performance, 50% is absence, 25% is lateness and 30% is gross misconduct.”
