Woman Says She Was Drugged At Holiday Party, Sues Firm

A Portland, Maine woman who alleges she was drugged at her company's holiday party and then fired after seeking help as she recovered, has sued her former employer. So reports the Portland Press Herald.

Diana Salas alleges in her federal lawsuit that TrueLine Publishing's president, Hamjil Carr, urged her to do shots at a holiday party in December 2016. She was concerned that she was drugged. Salas does not allege in her suit that Carr drugged her.

Salas claims she suffered from acute stress and post-traumatic stress disorders after the party and asked to be allowed to work alone while receiving care. But Salas' suit notes that by early January the firm fired her.

The suit also points out that the human resources manager said "it appears you are unhappy with your job" and criticized her for not working with co-workers. Salas says the HR manager informed her that her firing had nothing to do with her work.

TrueLine spokeswoman Erica Berry issued a statement denying Salas' allegations, adding that the police investigated her claims and ended up closing the case without filing charges.
