In an era where on-the-job mentoring is in shorter supply than it used to be and new hires are expected to ramp up as quickly as possible, HR and recruitment professionals at a number of leading job sites and head-hunting firms have some practical advice for workers eager to learn the ropes and succeed at their first companies.
