Advancements in human resource technology is helping place a higher premium on objective and real time actions with less focus on subjective performance reviews. So reports Business.com.

Once-a-year performance reviews are too costly, take too long to complete and stress out employees because they become more about whether the worker deserves a raise or promotion. Instead, the focus should be on real-time employee development.

“The main point is that performance reviews refer to past performance and goals and ignore the ability to help employees in real time (they are also subjective),” the story notes. “What if you can give employees real-time goals and show how they are achieved, also in real time?”
