Buhlebuyeza Majola had worked at Bell Equipment when he and another man went to Zenzele Nxumalo’s house on Aug. 5, 2011 with semi-automatic weapons. After spotting Nxumalo sitting in his car waiting for his wife and children, the man Majola recruited “fired several shots at him and he died as a result of gunshot wounds,” the judge ruled.
Majola plotted to kill Nxumalo after the HR manager notified him that he would have to face disciplinary actions for being absent without leave. Majola never acknowledged killing Nxumalo because he feared losing his job. “Convening disciplinary hearings was something that fell within his [Nxumalo’s] job description,” the judge noted. “There he was killed only for performing his duties.”
