HR Manager Who Faced Sexual Harassment Complaints Resigns

The former human resources and risk manager for the city of Galesburg, IL, who just resigned last month, had faced allegations of sexual harassment over several years. So reports The Register-Mail.

The city had suspended David W. Jones for five days without pay in August after city manager, Todd Thompson, wrote Jones' the suspension letter telling him a sexual harassment complaint against Jones was substantiated.

Thompson also offered to meet Jones to talk about "prior complaints regarding (Jones’) behavior provided in 2013 and 2014," according to the July 28 letter. Jones had started working for the city July 2, 2012.

When asked why Jones resigned, City Attorney Bradley Nolden would only say that "the city does not comment on personnel matters." There is a pending lawsuit against Jones filed by a city employee.
