Kansas City Tourism Head Accused of Bullying to Resign

The chief executive of Kansas City’s tourism/promotion agency said he will resign Jan. 31 following a settlement of a lawsuit from a former human resources director. So reports The Kansas City Star.

Ronnie Burt, who served as chief executive of Visit KC, also faced complaints from employees. He became head of Visit KC in 2014.

“I have made the decision that now is the best time for me to move on and consider other opportunities,” Burt said. Former Visit KC human resources manager, Janette Barron, sued Burt and Visit KC last year. She alleged she was fired after she looked into investigating female workers’ claims of harassment and bullying by Burt. That lawsuit was settled Jan. 10, court records show.
