Illinois City Proposes Whistleblower Protection for Workers Alleging Sexual Harassment

The city of Park Ridge in Illinois has proposed revisions to its sexual harassment policy that state employees who report allegations “may also have whistleblower protections.” So reports the Chicago Tribune.

The city’s human resources manager, Mike Suppan, says there have been no sexual harassment complaints filed with his office in the last three years. The current policy now “forbids retaliation against anyone that has reported harassment, assisted in making a harassment complaint or cooperated in a harassment investigation.”
