In addition to the 53% of full-time workers age 60+, 40% predict they won't be able to call it quits until they reach at least 70, a CareerBuilder survey finds. The Harris Poll conducted the survey in 2017 and, of the 809 full-time workers that were part of it, 157 were age 60 or older.
"I think some of this is residual anxiety," says Rosemary Haefner, chief human resources officer at CareerBuilder. "The recession wasn't that long ago, and it changed the financial picture for a lot of people. Some older workers might rather be safe than sorry."
