For 2018, SHRM also reported record growth in services it provides its more than 306,000 members and is on pace to achieve its biggest gains of new members in one year, said Johnny C. Taylor, SHRM president and CEO. Revenue shot up 10% during the year, reaching nearly $160 million, its strongest growth since 2000.
"Not only can our profession remain relevant, I submit that we are essential," Taylor said. "The future of work, workers and workplaces is not in the hands of CEOs, CFOs, lawyers and politicians. This is the mission of HR."
