Diversity More Prominent On Screen, But Not Among Power Brokers

Recent blockbuster hits “Black Panther” and “Crazy Rich Asians” highlighted some big gains for Hollywood when it comes to actors of color appearing prominently on screen. So reports Variety.

Another reason to celebrate: 16 of the top 100 movies were directed by black filmmakers. But, white males remain the media powerbrokers in the industry, as no person of color runs a major film studio, and just one, Universal, has a female chair.
