Ex HR Exec Pleads Guilty to Swiping $1.8M

A former St. Louis human resources director pleaded guilty to an embezzlement charge after admitting to stealing more than $1.8 million from her company. So reports the Associated Press.

The sentencing for Nicole Scott is expected to take place in January. Over the last 10 years, Scott tampered with her company’s payroll system to make it seem like payments were being made to fired workers, but the money ended up in her personal account. The company was not named.

Scott, 42, used the stolen money to buy clothing and pay her mortgage and other expenses.
