Target Axes Employees Who Helped Organize Layoffs

Target will be letting go of 40 HR employees, a crop that helped with the logistics of laying off nearly 1,700 employees earlier this month. So reports the Minneapolis Business Journal.

Another 1,400 open positions are being closed. "Because of the HR logistics involved in last week’s process, we delayed making a small group of position eliminations within some of our human resources teams until this week."

The statement added this was not a new reduction, though. Target is the largest employer in downtown Minneapolis, with a workforce pushing 10,000. Thousands more jobs exist at a suburban campus in Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Target is Minnesota's fourth biggest employer.
