Food Service Workers Cite Finances, Loyalty for Working While Sick

More than half of the 1,200 food-service workers polled in the U.S. and Canada will go to work when they are sick, according to a poll from the Center for Research and Public Policy for Alchemy Systems. So reports Grub Street.

The primary reasons cited are money and loyalty, with 45% of respondents citing they cannot afford to miss the time. Further, 46% of the workers surveyed said they will fight through an illness because taking off would put their colleagues in a bind.

Unfortunately, working around food while sick can have serious consequences.
