Evolution of HR Has Yielded a Seat at the Table

The leap from semi-clerical work to key business partner was a decades-long journey for HR, but now most companies rely heavily on the expertise of HR pros as their responsibilities have multiplied. So reads an op-ed from the Stillwater Gazette.

As labor laws became more complex HR responsibility grew. Now, there are multiple responsibilities HR companies are normally responsible for that span from compliance to benefits to workforce planning. “In most organizations today, HR has a seat at the executive table reporting directly to the CEO, president, or chairman of the board. Organizations have finally gotten the message that their most valuable asset and direct cost is the people that work for them day in and day out,” it reads.
