Today, it's not uncommon for C-suite responsibilities to be divided among any number of acronyms: CEO, CFO, CIO, COO, etc.; not to mention the ubiquitous "SME's."
Perhaps it's the influence of Silicon Valley start-ups, or maybe matrix organizations are realizing that shared responsibility equals a higher level of corporate "ownership" throughout the company, which in turn equals higher profit margins and shareholder value.
