Chief HR Head for Federal Gov’t Resigns Amid Rising Coronavirus Concerns

The woman charged with leading human resources for the U.S. federal government resigned with zero notice last month as the country grapples with the coronavirus pandemic. So reports The Washington Post.

leuchtkasten 1773916 640smallDale Cabaniss, the chief of the Office of Personnel Management, served in the role for only five months and quit due to months of frustration with the White House budget office, three sources familiar with the matter said. Those sources noted that Cabaniss felt she was being micromanaged and not being respected. Her office is responsible for workplace policy for the country’s 2.1 million civil servants.
At the time Cabaniss resigned, her deputy, Michael Rigas, took over on an acting basis, an agency spokesperson noted.

Cabaniss grew frustrated at not being able to communicate clearly and timely to agency managers on how they could best deal with the spreading virus, the sources noted.
