Firm Uses HR App to Manage 22,000+ Employees

Bengaluru-based IT firm, Mphasis, has turned to an app to help it manage HR duties for its more than 22,000 employees. So reports The Economic Times.

The cloud-based internal app, Ask Dexter, was built two years ago and helps employees with questions on leave and company policies. It offers help with technical support questions and insights on the creation of future jobs and what skills will be needed to land those positions.

Overall, technology is making some serious inroads in taking over HR jobs handled by humans.

"All HR functions have two aspects: transactional and transformational," says Chandrasekhar Sripada, professor, organisational behaviour and strategic human capital, Indian School of Business. "The 'transformational' parts of HR will definitely survive; while we find a new slave in robots to do the transactional work--albeit more intelligently."
