Most Stay Silent Despite #MeToo

The #MeToo movement has encouraged many victims of sexual harassment to publicly share their stories, but remaining silent is the reality for 72% of victims. So reports CareerBuilder.

The online survey also found that 54% avoid confronting the person who harassed them. The survey was conducted Nov. 28 to Dec. 20 and included a representative sample of 809 full-time workers in the U.S.

Of those who did not report, 40% said they did not want to be tagged as a trouble maker; 22% said it would turn into a "he said, she said" scenario and 18% feared losing their job.

"On the other hand, of those who did report it, 76% said the issue was resolved--29% said the person stopped the harassment and 21% said the person was fired."
