HR Manager aka ‘Dr. Death’ Accused of Killing Career

A former Barclays’ bank trader has accused a human resources manager known as “Dr. Death” for delivering a death blow to his career. So reports Bloomberg.

Ryan Reich is on trial for allegedly manipulating an important interest-rate benchmark. Reich told a jury in London last month that the HR manager who earned the moniker “Dr. Death” because of his record of sacking employees, fired him two days before he was set to collect a bonus in February 2010.

Reich and a work colleague are charged with colluding to manipulate the U.S. dollar London interbank offered rate from 2005 to 2007.  “I have no interest in trafficking anywhere near some sort of line,” Reich said to the jury. “It’s not how I act, it’s not me.”
