HR Manager Charged with Bigamy

A Dover, Delaware human resources manager faces felony bigamy and misdemeanor official misconduct charges after he allegedly married a co-worker in April 2016 while still married to his wife. So reports Delaware State News.

James I. Woodruff allegedly started dating the co-worker in 2015 after separating from his wife. He moved in with the co-worker, but she had Woodruff leave in November that year “because he was not contributing to the household expenses,” and “she felt (he) was not taking positive steps to secure a divorce,” according to police.

In April last year, the co-worker said Woodruff showed her divorce papers and the couple then “secured a marriage license from the Kent County Clerk of the Peace using the supposedly forged decree,” according to police. The co-worker notified police that she told Woodruff this past January that “she was going to file for divorce and at that time (he) told her that she and (he) were not really married because the divorce decree he provided in April 2016 was forged.”
