One Colleague's Clutter is Another's Creative Inspiration

In contemporary offices, not only have many office walls come down, but even cubicle partitions are shrinking; in some cases, disappearing altogether. So reports the Wall Street Journal.
For like-minded co-workers who are neatniks, slobs or something in between, this can make for happy cohabitation. However, others whose work styles may clash may not be happy as neighbors. Some employers frown upon messy desks, and have been known to penalize sloppy workers, whether consciously or otherwise.
Now the issue of "office clutter" is becoming more of a distraction – even a hindrance to productivity. At the same time, some creative types see it as the source of their inspiration and can't work any other way.
