Bigger Data, High-Tech Advances in HR in 2015: Survey

In its annual survey of top workplace trends for the coming year, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Society (SIOP) released some interesting findings that could mean changes in the way many HR functions are performed. So reports Fox Business.

Among SIOP’s leading predictions for 2015:

  • Technological advances that are more qualitative than quantitative and ever more sophisticated digital communication platforms. That, coupled with mobile technology to handle tasks like performance management and training, may evolve your work experience in unexpected ways.
  • HR analytics and empirically-based big data predictions will play a larger role in the workplace decision-making process.
  • Look for top management to talk about resource optimization and reducing waste and general inefficiency.
  • The traditional understanding of “work/life balance” will evolve to more of a work/life “blend,” as social media, portable platforms, and innovations like Google Glass make it harder to leave work behind at the end of the day.
