“She said, ‘If the people who are making the hiring decision can’t look into my eyes and see how badly I want to work here, my chances are pretty slim,’” says Webb, Hyatt’s Chief HR officer. When Webb wondered if Hyatt puts potential prospects through the same online maze, he started to try different ways to “bring back the human element in the hiring process,” the story notes. “Workplaces have really chipped away at humanity over the years, and I’m probably part of the reason for that, because I’ve been in HR for quite a while.”
