Some HR firms are turning to so-called "people analytics" to also improve the workplace and employee-employer relationships. The number of HR analytics positions in Asia Pacific has more than doubled in the last decade, data from LinkedIn notes. That translates to nearly 40,000 HR analytics professionals working in the region.
Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore rank as the markets with the biggest data or analytics opportunities in HR, according to the LinkedIn data. Nearly 50% of HR professionals in Singapore have embraced data or analytics.
"The types of decisions that can be made using data range from micro decisions like how to recognise staff and how often, to enterprise-wide considerations like whether or not to downsize a particular division and the likely impact on productivity," says Leong Chee Tung, co-founder and chief executive of employee engagement platform, EngageRocket.
