GE Malaysia's CEO Focuses on Motivation to Lead

Mark Rozario, the CEO for General Electric Malaysia, says the key to successfully managing employees from diverse backgrounds is honing in on what motivates them. So reports Human Resources.

"When managing people from different backgrounds, it is important to know what motivates them, only then can you lead well," Rozario notes. He added that attending university in the UK, and starting his career overseas, prepared him to work well with a diverse staff.

Rozario also spoke about GE's human resources team swapping out traditional performance reviews in favor of an app-based feedback platform. GE is "transforming traditional performance appraisals to better engage employees," Rozario says. "As more Millennials enter the workforce, systems should change to fit the needs of employees."
