The workforce reliability of more than 290,000 Australians in various generations were reviewed for a Late to Work Report prepared by Deputy, a rostering software firm.
Baby Boomers, those born from 1946 to 1964, were also pretty bad with 64% of men and 67% of women reporting late to work. Generation Z, or those born from 1996 to 2012, fared better than millennials with 71% of men and 67% of women reporting late.
Shortly after the report came out, 33% of millennials were found to have not lasted past the first 90 days of starting their jobs. “The majority of reasons why probation fails is because of [millennial's] own habits and lack of engagement,” says Greg Weiss, a human resources expert, told Daily Mail Australia. “Of the reasons for failing, 62% is poor performance, 50% is absence, 25% is lateness and 30% is gross misconduct.”
