The event held last month in Bengaluru drew in 250 people searching for jobs with firms such as Intel, Goldman Sachs and Uber. The country’s Supreme Court last year struck down a law that banned homosexuality, leaving companies with little reason to not consider candidates who have faced discrimination for their sexual/gender identity.
"Now these companies are not going to give an excuse that it is against the law," says Srini Ramaswamy, co-founder of Bengaluru-based consultancy Pride Circle and job fair organizer. "If you're not being inclusive, it indirectly means you’re being homophobic."
