Asian Employers Hungry for Talent

Of employers polled in 11 countries and markets in Asia, 71% say they are hungry for talent, citing this as their most pressing challenge. So notes the RFG International Recruitment report for 2019.

The report also finds that 37% of employers say growing their in-house recruitment teams is a priority, while 42% rank boosting their brand/image as keys to wooing and keeping new talent. Respondents were surveyed across multiple industries in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Mainland China, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Employers in Singapore, however, may find it easier to attract talent. “Overwhelmingly, and perhaps surprisingly, Singapore came out as the number one destination for the majority of talent to move to, even above markets such as North America and Europe,” according to the report. “Mainland China was also a popular destination, particularly for talent already located in Asia.”
