Australians Neglect Health On Business Trips

Australian workers are not taking great care of their health while traveling on business, and are lagging their global counterparts, MyBusiness reports, citing recent research.

Of the 100 business travelers polled from 27 countries each (2,700 total), including in Australia, 57% of the Australians said that the don’t exercise or do very little exercise when they travel away from home on business. CWT, a travel management platform, conducted the survey. Nearly 40% of study participants admitted that they did not eat healthy on business trips.

When looked at globally, an average 36% of business travelers said they did not eat well. The average for those from Asia Pacific countries is 27%. Employers can help their workers do better at staying healthy while away on business, said Michael RYan, CWT Australian managing director. “By creating travel policies that factor these things in, such as allowing travelers to stay at hotels with fitness facilities and ensuring their meal allowance is enough to cover healthy food choices, companies can create a much better travel experience for their employees,” Ryan said.
