ObamaCare, Take 2: Second-Year Enrollment Challenges

It seems like only yesterday that the HR world was gearing up for the initial rollout of the Affordable Care Act – perhaps because the fallout and unexpected turnaround in enrollment numbers extended from October of last year well into 2014. So reports The New York Times.

Now, with the sign-up period looming for first-time policy buyers or those who want to switch plans, the insurance industry and some state exchanges appear braced for an equally rocky second year. Even though the national health exchange – which had such a disastrous rollout – seems to be running smoothly, as are most of the state-run exchanges, new carriers are entering the field, and premium prices appear to be all over the map. Expect at least some confusion from your workforce.
