School District Taps Social Media For All Recruits After Coach Arrest

A Connecticut school district has expanded its use of social media to vet all employee prospects after a coach was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to sell. So reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

Before the arrest, the New Canaan School District had used social media to vet candidates vying for certified positions, including teachers, administrators and counselors. Following the March 31 arrest of Jose Amor, the former New Canaan High School assistant boys basketball coach, now social media searches are required for vetting candidates for all positions.
