Dogs at Work: An Effective Employee Retention Tool?

Employers would be wise to let workers bring their four-legged friends to the office in what is proving to be a good retention strategy. So reports Employee Benefit News.

dog 2983021 1280One company that has embraced a pet-friendly workplace is Redtail Technology. Founder Brian McLaughlin, who named the firm after his dog, not only allows employees to bring their dogs to work, but also has a dog park. Another perk is a so-called Slack channel where employees can message each other whenever they want to meet up with their dogs for a workday play date.

A study by Washington State University found that petting a dog for just 10 minutes can cut down on stress.
