Kirkham was charged with Sex Act with a Student and Possession of Child Pornography, said Bill Veitch, Jefferson Country district attorney.
Kirkham’s alleged victim, now an adult, said the incident took place when he was a middle school student, but Veitch said he knows there are more victims and is asking that they contact his office. Kirkham held various roles at the district, including teacher for four years at a middle school, assistant principal for two years and principal for six years, said Jefferson County Schools’ spokesperson Nez Calhoun. He became HR director in 2014 and was placed on paid administrative leave.
