Nebraska Governor’s Ex-Spokeswoman Alleges Pregnancy Discrimination

The former spokeswoman for a Nebraska governor has sued the state alleging that she was fired for being pregnant. So reports the Lincoln Journal Star.

Jen Rae Wong had served under former Governor Dave Heineman, who left office January of last year. But Wong claimed in her compliant that shortly after Jeff Fassett became director of the agency in August of last year, he would not make eye contact and ignored her.

The lawsuit also notes that Wong’s direct supervisor refused to fire a dedicated worker (Wong) who was pregnant, and that Fassett allegedly responded that, “Well, she put herself in that position.”
