Air France Workers Face Trial for Violence Against HR Director

Fifteen current and former Air France workers are on trial for fighting with two executives and ripping off their shirts last year. So reports Associated Press.

The alleged violence took place during a union protest that led to the executives, including the human resources director, Xavier Broseta, scaling a fence shirtless. Five of the workers who were fired face aggravated assault charges, up to three years in prison and a $51,000 fine if they are convicted.

The other 10 workers who are still employed face property damage charges. Air France has cut its workforce and costs citing the need to compete with low-cost and Mideast airlines.
