One in Five Workers Targeting New Job In 2017

For 22% of workers, 2017 means landing a new job, according to a CareerBuilder national survey.

That number was higher, 35%, among workers ages 18 to 34, compared to 15% for workers 35 and older who said they were looking for a new job this year. The survey of 3,411 workers in various industries was conducted from Nov. 16 to Dec. 06.

“Whether it’s unemployed people trying to find their way back to the workforce or those who are currently employed attempting an upgrade to greener pastures, a new year makes many people set their sights on job hunting,” says Rosemary Haefner, chief human resources officer for CareerBuilder. “To keep your top workers, you need to keep a pulse on what they’re seeking. For example, poll your employees from time to time to learn more about their goals and motivations and how they want to be treated.”
