Audit Finds Kansas City HR Dept. Failing

A recent audit found that Kansas City’s human resources department fell short in investigating city employees’ allegations of harassment and discrimination. So reports KSHB.

The audit could not determine how long it took HR’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Office to investigate complaints. It also found that some valid complaints may be ignored and that HR did not communicate with employees about the status of investigations. 

There were 169 complaints to the EEO Office between fiscal years 2014 and 2016, with the majority being discrimination or harassment, the audit found.
