“To de-stress, we send them skiing,” Bill Linkenheimer says of his workers. While employees are encouraged to go skiing on the weekends, he’s OK with them taking a couple of hours off during the work day to hit the slopes if it helps them relax.
Most of Willi’s 250 employees are ages 19 to 30 and work in five different shops. The idea is to encourage workers to “sell fun,” Linkenheimer said. That can range from team-building activities like bowling and hosting week-long ski trips. He took staff who could make it this year to Utah for a ski trip. “Happy employees are good employees,” Linkenheimer said.
