Macy's Cuts HR Staff

Retail giant Macy's has said goodbye to numerous human resource employees as it restructures its corporate workforce. So reports Phoenix Business Journal.

Macy's did not say how many HR staffers it laid off, but cuts were made on the local and regional levels.

"In order to maximize efficiency and increase profitability within our stores, Macy's has redesigned our Human Resources department, recently transitioning to a new HR system," says Jacqueline King, Macy's spokeswoman. "As a result, a number of our HR associates were impacted."

Macy's offered some HR associates positions in nearby stores when possible, while "eligible full-time and part-time employees were also offered severance benefits," King says.
