HR Manager Steals $400,000+ By Making Up Fake Workers

The human resources manager at a U.S. senior living center pled guilty to stealing $416,257 by making up non-existent employees. So reports McKnight's Senior Living.

Teresa Yarborough-Walker worked at Genesis senior living center in South Carolina where she created fake employees and cashed in their paychecks, the U.S. Attorney's Office notes in a statement.

Yarborough-Walker tampered with the payroll software to prevent reports of these fake employees from being sent to management.

After an audit exposed the scam, Yarborough-Walker was charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent and first-degree computer crimes. She faces up to 10 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
