Hyatt Hotels Ups Its Commitment to Diversity

Hyatt Hotels has joined with other large corporations and the United Nations in upping its commitment to diversity and lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex (LGBTI). So reports Hotel Business.

Hyatt is partnering with the CEO ACTION for Diversity & Inclusion initiative and has signed the UN's LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business. Hyatt's CEO has joined more than 400 CEOs who have signed onto the initiative, promising to share best practices.

The hotel chain became the third corporation in the hospitality space to formalize the LGBTI standards of conduct for business.

"On a global scale, we're standing up against all forms of discrimination," says Malaika Myers, chief human resources officer for Hyatt. "We know that we can only be a truly inclusive workplace if we create an environment that allows our colleagues to bring their whole selves to work every day so they can be their best and better care for others."
