HR Director's Death in Murder/Suicide Moves City to Take Action

A Philadelphia city council worker who police said was killed by her estranged husband in a murder-suicide has prompted officials to take action to help prevent future tragedies from happening. So reports Billy Penn.

Linda Rios, who served as human resources director in City Hall, was discovered dead in her home last month. The city had no one specifically responsible for handling domestic violence, but Rios' death has prompted officials to take action.

Through its Shared Safety initiative, the city aims to stop domestic abuse form becoming fatalities.
