HR Head Who Revamped Anti-Bullying Policy Resigns, Accused of Bullying

The human resources head for Atlanta who recently revised that city’s anti-bullying policy has quit following allegations that she herself was verbally abusive to her employees. So reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Former HR Commissioner Marian Woods, who also faced accusations of possibly assaulting one of her staffers, has been on administrative leave since last month as an investigation was ongoing over an alleged encounter with her executive assistant.

 The city’s law department determined that Woods did not physically assault her assistant, according to their investigation, but did reveal other accusations that she fostered a poisonous work place. Woods had asked to stay in her position for the next three months to finish up ongoing projects, her resignation letter notes.

Michael Smith, a spokesman for Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, said that the Mayor had OK’ed Woods’ resignation, “which will be effective upon completion of key HR projects related to transitioning the department.”
